What is the building capacity?

When are the payments due?

• A signed contract and a deposit of one-third (1/3) of the rental fee are required to secure your event date. A second payment of one-third (1/3) of the remaining balance is due six (6) months prior to the event date. The final balance of the rental fee is due thirty (30) days prior to the event.

  The initial deposit secures your date and is nonrefundable unless, upon cancellation by the Client, Whispering Oaks is able to rebook the venue date with another party. In such case, the deposit will be refunded, less a $500 administrative fee.

How do I reserve a date?

Is there a food and beverage, or guest count minimum?

• No. We don’t penalize any of our clients for the size of their wedding party and guests. Some caterers may have a reasonable minimum for specific dates.

Do we have to utilize your caterers?

• No

Will there be another wedding the same day?

• At Whispering Oaks we only host one wedding each day to ensure that each couple's event is special and receives our full attention.

Are there overnight accommodations nearby?

• Comfort Inn 8.5 miles from us. Directions

• Hampton Inn in Crown Point 19 miles away. Directions

• Fairfield Inn and Suites Fair Oaks Farms  20 miles away . Directions

Do you provide table linens? 

• Black or white table linens are included in the price.

What happens in case of rain?

• In the event of inclement weather all events and ceremonies will be moved in the barn.

We plan to have our ceremony offsite, or only plan to have our ceremony at Whispering Oaks.  Does your fee change?

• Because we only host one event per day, our fee structure remains the same whether you hold your ceremony, reception, or both onsite.

Do you allow dogs onsite to play a part in our wedding day?

• We are dog friendly, with some specific stipulations. Animals, other than service animals, are NOT allowed near food. Dogs must be on a leash and someone must be responsible for them other than the bride and groom.

What form of payment does Whispering Oaks accept?

• Debit or Credit Card. 

What time will I have access to the venue to decorate?

• You will have access to the venue at the time listed on your contract, not earlier. Please plan accordingly!

Do you include a "wedding day coordinator?"

• We do not provide a wedding coordinator, but we can assist in finding one if you are interested in hiring one.
